William
R. Caroselli, Esquire
According to his peers, William “Bill”Caroselli
is one of the best lawyers in America. The publication “The
Best Lawyers in America”has been published
since 1987. In each of the ten editions of “The
Best Lawyers in America”, Bill has been included
under the Personal Injury Litigation category for
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, which includes matters
of medical malpractice, product liability and automobile
collision law. Inclusion in this publication has
been based upon a survey of lawyers throughout
the country, which asks lawyers to whom they would
refer a relative or close friend with a legal matter.
Throughout his career, Bill has
handled many complex medical malpractice claims.
Bill frequently lectures other lawyers, who are
participating in continuing legal education, in
matters of medical negligence, trial tactics and
evidence.
Bill has previously served as president
of the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association (PaTLA).
In 2003, Bill was awarded the prestigious Milton
D. Rosenberg award by the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers
Association. The Rosenberg award is given to a
trial lawyer whose devotion to injured victims,
qualities of leadership and service to PaTLA best
represent the life of the late Milton D. Rosenberg,
a past president of PaTLA.
At the time Bill was awarded the
Rosenberg award, then PaTLA president David L.
Lutz called Bill “a brilliant and skillful
litigator”and “dedicated trial lawyer
who is passionate about his work and the people
he represents. Bill Caroselli is a selfless volunteer
for Pennsylvania consumers and a staunch supporter
of PaTLA.”
Pennsylvania Governor Edward Rendell
has recognized Bill’s leadership in the medical
malpractice field by appointing Bill to a special
medical malpractice task force to study medical
negligence issues in the state of Pennsylvania.
Bill was also appointed by the Pennsylvania Supreme
Court to a task force to study amendments to the
Pennsylvania Rules of Civil Procedure regarding
medical negligence issues.
Bill is a graduate of Brown University.
Bill received his law degree from the Dickinson
School of Law of Penn State and he now serves on
the Board of Trustees of the law school.
From his law school, Bill has received
the distinguished service award in 1991 and the
outstanding alumni award in 2001. In 1999, Bill
was a finalist for the Lawyers of Public Justice
trial lawyer of the year award.
Additionally, Bill has held leadership
positions in many professional associations, including
the prestigious International Academy of Trial
Lawyers, the American College of Trial Lawyers,
the American Board of Trial Advocates, the Academy
of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County and he previously
served as president of the Western Pennsylvania
Trial Lawyers Association.
Bill is intimately involved in
any medical negligence claim handled by the firm.
Bill believes in the use of cutting edge multimedia
presentations in the submission of medical negligence
claims to juries.
Lotta
A. Crabtree, Esquire
Lotta Crabtree is a nurse attorney
and has been with Caroselli Beachler McTiernan & Conboy
since September of 1997. She graduated cum laude
from the Virginia Appalachian Tri-College nursing
program in May of 1990. Following graduation she
worked as an R.N. in both medical and respiratory
intensive care. She also received certifications
in advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) and pediatric
advanced life support (PALS). Lotta returned to
school in 1993 and received a bachelors degree
in philosophy as well as a bachelors degree in
political science from VA Tech. While obtaining
her degrees from VA Tech, Lotta worked for a temporary
nursing agency, this allowed her to gain experience
in various fields of nursing including rehabilitative
nursing, and home health nursing. In the fall of
1996, Lotta matriculated into the University of
Pittsburgh School of Law. She graduated from law
school in May of 1999. Lotta's focus area of law
has always been medical malpractice and she has
been an instructor for various continuing education
courses regarding the law of medical malpractice.
At Caroselli Beachler, Lotta is not only involved with every medical
negligence case that comes into the office but with every aspect
of those cases. She reviews medical records and medical literature,
finds experts and meets with those experts to discuss the case;
she prepares pleadings, conducts discovery, participates in settlement
negotiations and is an experienced trial attorney. At all times
Lotta is available to our clients to discuss their case. As a nurse
and an attorney, Lotta has the right combination of knowledge and
skills to provide our clients with the best representation possible.
Ann
Marie Ging, RN, BSN
Ann graduated from Vanderbilt University
in 1982 with a B.S. in Nursing. She worked as a
staff nurse at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh
for a total of 13 years. She started working on
the Infant Medical floor and then worked in the
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. She worked in Labor & Delivery
and the Newborn Nursery at Shadyside Hospital for
approx 10 months. She has also done home care for
infant and pediatric patients that required mechanical
ventilation in their home. She was a nurse at Transitional
Infant Care Hospital for four years where she took
care of infants that were not well enough to go
home but no longer required intensive care.
She graduated from the Paralegal
Institute at Duquesne University in December
2000. In February 2001, she began to work as
a nurse paralegal at Caroselli, Beachler, McTiernan & Conboy.
Her responsibilities include organizing and reviewing
medical records as well as researching the medical
issues involved. She locates expert witnesses
and discuss with them the medical issues involved
in the case. She acts as a liaison between the
clients and the attorneys and assists clients
with litigation procedures.
